The first Trail Ride to be held after the COVID-19 lockdown on June 4 was well attended by over 300 participants eager to escape the confines of their homes. Macdonald Downs is a farm situated west of Hawarden and stretches for 12 km westwards to the Lees Valley which ensured great trails and rides for riders of all abilities. Children were also catered for with a Peewee course made available which they were able to negotiate safely.
The proceeds from the ride ensured that we could support our community with donations, $1000 of which went towards the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust.
