A successful Xmas Carfest was held on Sunday with nearly 150 vehicles attending. These featured vintage, classic and iconic cars, a great collection of vintage tractors, large transport trucks, and of course Rodin Cars Sintura Le Mans GT car. This vehicle attracted a great deal of interest, and we much appreciate Rodin Cars’ participation in this event as a key attraction.
Although the day was warm and at times a little windy, the attendees enjoyed the attractions available – a great selection of vehicles to view, stalls catering for a variety of interests (and tastes), bouncy castle entertainment for the children, music, and even a Xmas tree display in the Rugby Club rooms.
For vehicles preregistering for the day entry was given into a raffle which was drawn in the afternoon with several prizes being offered. Spot prizes were also awarded with all prizes donated by: Craig Millar Waikari Autos, Arthur Burke Waikari, Alltorque Automotive Culverden (Mocketts Motors), Velocity Mechanical Culverden, for which we are very grateful. In fact the day would not have been the success it was without the participation of those who contributed by way of donations, as stall holders in supply of goods and food, actively assisting, or bringing a vehicle for display.
It needs to be stated that the event would not have been possible without the great efforts of valued club members Margaret and Jeff Walker who have been the catalyst and organisers behind this event for the past several years and which we hope will be continued. Certainly, a number of the participants indicated they would be back next year so watch this space!
